Seth Rogen And Lauren Miller’s Hilarity For Charity Launches Collegiate Program, HFC U, Urging Students Nationwide To Take Action In The Fight Against Alzheimer’s Disease

Benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association®, HFC U Will Award the Winning University that Raises the Most Funds with an Advance Screening of Universal Pictures’ “Neighbors” with Q&A to Follow

LOS ANGELES, CA. February 11, 2014Hilarity for Charity (HFC), a unique movement using the power of laughter to bring attention to Alzheimer’s disease that is led by husband and wife duo Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller, is pleased to announce a nationwide collegiate program, HFC U. The more than three-month-long challenge aims to encourage students to throw their very own HFC event to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. As part of the program, HFC will provide promotional assets, support and structure necessary for student organizations (including fraternities, sororities, leadership and athletic groups) to kick off their event! The university that raises the most funds from now until April 11 , 2014 will win a special advance screening (with a Q&A to follow) of Universal Pictures’ upcoming comedy “Neighbors”, starring Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne.

HFC and its initiatives are working to change the mindset that Alzheimer’s disease not only affects an older generation, but younger generations as well. Early-onset Alzheimer’s has been known to develop between the age of 30 and 40, and few diseases require such intense care that it greatly affects entire families. With more than five million Americans living with the disease, and that number expected to triple in our lifetimes, it is imperative to engage and educate a younger generation.

“Alzheimer’s sucks,” exclaimed Rogen. “That’s the honest truth but a truth that can’t be ignored. We [HFC] aim to communicate to a younger generation about the disease and help provide the proper tools and support they may need.”

Miller added, “This disease is something that my family is far more familiar with than we’d like. But, like Seth said, it’s something that shouldn’t be ignored. HFC is here to shed light on it in a fun and one-of-a-kind way. We’re excited to see what each of these campuses and student organizations have up their sleeves!”

About Hilarity For Charity

After being actively involved in the Alzheimer’s community for the past several years, Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller (along with some amazing friends) created Hilarity for Charity: an awesome, one-of-a-kind, and most importantly, hilarious event to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s among a younger generation. They later established the Hilarity for Charity Fund as part of the National Alzheimer’s Association, through which monies raised will be directed to help families struggling with Alzheimer’s care, increase support groups nationwide, and fund cutting-edge research.
