Vantage Health System Announces Two New members To The Board of Trustees – Thomas J. Mastrangelo and Colette Balaam

Press Release – (Dumont, NJ- September 26, 2018) Vantage Health System welcomes Thomas J. Mastrangelo of Montville and Colette Balaam of Wyckoff as new members of their Board of Trustees. In their role they will continue the mission of providing services to children, adolescents, adults and elders with mental health, addiction, developmental challenges along with working on new initiatives to improve the quality of those struggling with mental illness within Bergen County.

“We welcome both Ms. Balaam and Mr. Mastrangelo to Vantage’s Board. Both have established themselves as effective leaders and will add further value and contributions to our board and its future decisions. Their addition the Board of Vantage Health System is a perfect fit as they will bring energy, experience and new strategic ideas to the Board,” said Jack Van Horne, Chair of the Vantage Board of Trustees.

Thomas J. Mastrangelo is Vice President with Burton Trent Public Affairs in the area of business development for private sector clients. He has also held leadership positions in several leading IT companies and most recently manages his own successful IT consulting business, Mind’s Eye Technologies. He has considerable knowledge of cyber security, data storage systems, networks and software services.

Recognizing public service as a calling, he also serves as a Morris County Freeholder, having been elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2013 and 2016. He also was unanimously elected twice as the Director of the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University, and Executive MBA in Management from Fairleigh Dickenson University and a Juris Doctorate of Law from Seton Hall University School of Law.

“I look forward to serving on the Vantage Health System Board of Trustees to assist in setting the strategy for its future and continued success in providing services to children, adolescents, adults and elders with mental health and other challenges,” said Thomas Mastrangelo.

Colette Balaam is the US CEO of Hive, a global patient centric communication agency that uses understanding of patients as well as healthcare professionals to influence medicine experience. This integrated approach informs prescribing behavior, healthcare professional and patient interactions, and aims to improve patient outcomes. Prior to this, Colette worked at Edelman Worldwide and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. She is a proven strategic leader with over 15 years in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences field. She has successfully grown two healthcare businesses from the ground up and has established and maintained relationships with key opinion leaders across multiple therapeutic areas.

Colette holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston University, holds membership in a number of biotech and healthcare business associations and is on the Board of the Christ Healthcare Ministry.
