Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation to Host Inaugural Casino Night Fundraiser

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 17, 2015) – The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) will host its inaugural Casino Night on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco.

IICF unites the industry to make a tangle impact in the communities in which its employees live and work through volunteerism and grants. The first annual Casino Night event will raise funds to benefit regional nonprofits through the IICF Community Grants Program. IICF reinvests funds raised by a particular region back into that same region and its communities. IICF‘s Western Division champions local nonprofit organizations focused in the areas of child abuse prevention, disaster preparedness, education, and health and human services.

The fundraising event will feature casino games and networking opportunities with the more than 300 insurance professionals who are expected to attend.

“As we launch the first year of the Casino Night event, I’m looking forward to an entertaining night that exemplifies the positive impact that the insurance industry has on local communities,” said Steve Marohn, IICF Western Division Chair and Senior Vice President, Western Zone Officer at CNA. “The chance to network with fellow insurance professionals and philanthropic leaders is an added bonus to the meaningful work that will be accomplished a result of this event.”

This year, the IICF’s Western Division Community Grants program provided $280,000 in grants to 29 local nonprofits throughout the Western United States. Since 1994, the IICF has provided $23.5 million in grants.
