Epworth Children & Family Services Celebrates 150 Years

Agency to Host Anniversary and Volunteer Appreciation Party Sunday, July 20

ST. LOUIS, MO (July 10, 2014)Epworth Children & Family Services is celebrating its 150th anniversary and honoring the agency’s success and volunteers this month. The agency will host the free family-friendly event on Sunday, July 20 from Noon to 2 p.m. Friends, families and volunteers can walk Epworth’s historic Webster Groves campus located at 110 North Elm Avenue in Webster Groves, Missouri. During the celebration, Epworth representatives will recognize the volunteers and donors who have helped the agency reach 150 years of service to youth and families.

In the last 150 years, Epworth, which specializes in helping children, teens and young adults overcome severe emotional and behavioral challenges caused by abuse or neglect, has focused on building brighter futures in partnerships with area churches and community at large to meet the needs of youth.

“We can’t thank our friends, staff and the St. Louis community enough for their ongoing generosity and encouragement,” said Kevin Drollinger, chief executive officer of Epworth Children & Family Services. “Our children are the heart of Epworth and the amazing volunteers and donors who rally around them have made Epworth the success that it is. We hope to continue extending our programs and services to many more St. Louis area youth in need for years to come.”

In preparation for the agency’s milestone event, Epworth recently welcomed Rev. Carl Schenck, Nora Kelleher and Rachel Kraby to its development team. The agency has recently expanded its program services to Normandy with a new Drop-In Center and now offers three locations in St. Louis.
